A plan has been put forward to build a new four-storey office block in cork city. The application was submitted at the site of an old house and high street newsagents on the douglas rd/high st just beside the lions den pub. Cork city council are now set to review the idea which was submitted by builders the spillane brothers who are based in bantry. Under the proposal the building would be just over 28m in height, slightly taller than the pub next door. At the moment there are five buildings laying along that row (the two spots on the plan, the pub, the old mcsweeney shop, and a home next to that) that are laying unused.
